Module 3: The General Assembly
In this module you will learn about the functions and decision-making of the General Assembly, the closest you get to a national parliament on the world stage.
You will take a look behind the scenes of the General Assembly and we invite you to become part of one of its historic contributions to developing a nuclear ban treaty.
Objectives
After completing of this module you will be able to:
- explain the role, politics and decision-making of the General Assembly
- discuss some of the issues it is trying to revitalise
- explain the role of the General Assembly in the negotiations for a nuclear ban treaty
- discuss New Zealand’s role in the negotiations
