UNA NZ organises an annual speech competition for secondary school students to take part in.
The goal of this competition is to promote the goals of the UN through the creation and delivery of a speech competition.
The 2018 Speech Award topic is:
How should we balance climate change issues versus economic growth in New Zealand? Are they mutually exclusive?
- Speeches are to be 6-8 minutes in length. All NZ secondary school students are eligible to enter.
- The national finals will be held in Wellington on Friday 18 May.
- Speech finalists will be filmed and placed on this website.
- We anticipate semi-finals, organised in main centres, will be held in late April. These main centres are: Auckland, Tauranga, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch and Dunedin.
Keep an eye out for a flyer to promote the Speech Awards as well as advertising in The NZ Education Gazette. Further information please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
